Who We Are:
- as ESG (Protestant student community) …
an open group of students, members of university and professional newcomers who are concerned with issues that go beyond our various subjects of study.
What We Do:
We think about what strengthens us in our life.
During theme evenings we discuss about interesting scientific fields and problems of society.
We talk about God and what everyone of us believes and also celebrate services and prayers.
Who Is Welcome:
We are open for everybody who respects the dignity of the others.
We seek to create a place where you can meet with and talk to people who have diverse opinions and experiences, regardless of whether they are Protestants, members of other religions or religious determination or atheists.
What You Can Expect In The ESG:
The ESG facilitates meetings, exchange, general or religious self-education, intellectual and spiritual assurance and spiritual counselling.
The ESG is a place where peace, justice and integrity of creation are aiming points of action and behaviour.
are very welcome to all of our activities, especially to the "Internationaler Treff" (International meeting).
The university chaplain offers you counselling and if necessary financial benefit from the "Diakonisches Werk" (Protestant charitable organisation in Germany) of the EKM (Evangelical Church in Central Germany) or can nominate you for scholarships from the EED (Evangelical Church Development Service).
Furthermore, we can connect you with the STUBE-Programm (Programme to support students from Africa, Asia and Latin America) and with the "Heidelberger Ärzteprogramm" (Programme for clinical traineeships for medical students from developing and emerging countries).
You are welcome at the ESG!
